About: Hi! My name is Nadia, and I make pottery. I spend my weekdays, working as a physical therapist, helping patients achieve functional goals, and my weekends making functional pottery. My artistry was born out of a loving family, a finished carpenter father, and an art major mother. My father still creates, including his one of a kind wine box tables, that I’m lucky enough to have displaying my artwork. Growing up, I mostly expressed my creativity through drawing and painting. It wasn’t until 2019 that I took my first pottery class and fell in LOVE! I hope you enjoy using my artwork as much as I enjoyed making it!
What I love to create: I love making functional pottery. Anything from planters, to vases, mugs and bowls. I find that there is nothing better than sitting down with a handmade mug, as you drink your coffee to start your day. I enjoy unique glaze techniques, and tend to create work that reminds me of nature, greens being my favorite!
My inspiration? Why I make? I love making pottery, because it is something you make with your hands. It requires you to feel the medium, and manipulate it in a way that creates something new. In a way, that is what I do for my patients. Through the use of manual therapy I help people live better, and I hope to do the same by manually making pottery.
