About: Hi! I’m an illustrator, textile artist, and death doula living in South East Michigan.
What I love to create: I love to create a variety of different mixed media pieces that merge Illustration and textile art through printmaking, appliqué, and free motion embroidery. My works include illustrations, paintings, monotype prints, stitched monotypes & illustrations, and up-cycled fabric jewelry/wearable pieces.
My inspiration? Why I make? I’m very inspired by the natural world, and how we as humans interact with it. I use recycled fabrics for my textile pieces as a means of reducing textile waste (the most abundant waste produced by people). Also a Death Doula, a lot of my work is meditation on mortality, as well as a means of creating a space for thought and conversation about death and mortality- a subject often considered Taboo.
