About: Amy was transplanted into Ypsi almost 30 years ago to attend EMU and earn a degree in Graphic Design. Amy currently owns a graphic design company in Ypsi and teaches polymer clay classes with EMU’s Bright Futures program plus does shows on weekends.
What I love to create:I have been playing with polymer clay for 32 years - it was my first business that I started at age 18 and put myself through college selling at art fairs. All these years later I'm still loving clay and now get to teach kids to love it as well. In 2022 I taught over 100 classes! I make whimsical polymer clay creations, such a gnomes, and fairy garden homes with various LGBTQIA+ flag colors. Gnomes represent the flags as well, and have a range of skin tones because it's important. Me and MANY audiobooks work to create thousands of pieces each year.
My inspiration? Why I make? I think polymer clay is the MOST amazing medium, you can make anything in it! Joy is why I keep going, I love the expressions on faces when people enter my booth!
