The tale of the PLYMOUTH unFAIR
Amidst the chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a remarkable story unfolded. As stay-at-home orders and safety guidelines reshaped our lives, an unexpected gift emerged: time. People everywhere embarked on diverse endeavors, transforming their backyards into lush gardens or embarking on long-awaited home improvement projects. But for two creative souls this newfound time ignited a profound journey of self-discovery and inspiration.
Enter Erin and Carol, artsy next-door neighbors, who realized they were not alone in their quest to cultivate creativity and find solace amidst uncertainty. Driven by their own circumstances, they harnessed their lifelong professional talents to uplift fellow artisans and spark a renaissance of imagination in their community. The result was an "unofficial" fair, born from a shared desire to connect kindred spirits and showcase the unbridled talent nestled within the region.
The PLYMOUTH unFAIR was born—a backyard artisan market that weaves together local emerging artisans, makers, cottage industries and musicians. Our community is a hidden gem, brimming with untapped artistic brilliance yearning to be discovered and we offer an UNtraditional platform to share their talents.
Now, as we celebrate our third year, the mission of the PLYMOUTH unFAIR is clear: to provide accessibility, meaningful exposure, and a dismantling of the barriers that hinder our community of creators. It's the neighborly thing to do—inspire confidence and encourage others to take a chance on their dreams. We believe that together, we can forge a path that celebrates and empowers makers of all types to help increase their success.
